How to paint Stormcast Eternals armor

We already know that the next month will be dedicated to Stormcast Eternals releases. This army is strongly associated with Age of Sigmar just like space marines with Warhammer 40 000. Today we suggest you some ideas for Sormcast's armor, since it appeared to be an uneasy choice.

Classic models from the box covers are wearing golden armor. Stormcast's armor is made of Sigmarite - the strongest metal, able to protect them from almost any weapon. However, golden colour scheme is too popular and many of you might want some other variants.

The most obvious one is classical metal. You can use either NMM or metallic paints. Looks more savage bit still traditional. And magic armor is supposed to look more... unusual.

So you can use blackened steel effect. It can be made by drybrushing a black armor with metallic paints. Looks really rough unusual and realistic.

The most interesting idea here is dark, burnt metal. You can reach it by highlighting Warplock Bronze with silver tones.

The smooth shape of this armor lets you make it look really metal if you use shades and highlights correctly. Sure, an airbrush will be a good help.

Stormcast Eternals were once mortal heroes, plucked from countless battlefields to undergo a series of long and agonizing trials in the Realm of Azyr. Reforged by this process, both in body and mind, they emerged as immortal golden warriors.Such is their physical transformation that they tower over mortal men and lighting runs through their veins. Their armor is reforged from the enchanted remains of the world-that-was

Even upon death the Stormcast Eternals cannot escape their righteous purpose. A slain Eternal is born anew and sent back into the fray once more. This Reforging, however, changes a warrior in strange ways. The Lord-Relictors, heroes from the Realm of Shyish, hold a mysterious power over the clutches of death, that can rouse the Stormcast from death

Nonetheless, Sigmarite is a metal, some painters make it look like ceramic, marble, or stone. Maybe not really according to the background, but unusual and special - like your army consists of living statues, which Stormcasts really look like. Note the effect of enamel peeling off the armor here.

The armor damaged by the weather really reminds of the Death guard from Warhammer 30 000. Such radical effects are nice for any color scheme, bot they look better on the light ones.

Everyone knows, how difficult is to paint white armor. However, such models will make all your opponents respect you. The good idea is to start with the grey as a base color and just make highlights with the white. No warrior will stay shiny white while fighting in severe battle.

The marble armor with cracks is a real masterpiece. Don't do anything like that if you lack time or skills.

No matter what color scheme you choose, the army of Stormcast eternals will be the jewel on any table if you give it enough attention and skills. We'll post a complete tutorial on this armor as soon as possible, so stay tuned!
