2016 year review

How're your new yeas holidays going? Do you like your presents? There's only one day left in 2016 and it's high time to see what's been done.

This year was full of events and quite successful for our studio. One of the popular battle mats -  Meadows и Homeland, and their version Crossroads have been released. Just before the end of the year, we released brand new battle mats Hive и War at Sea, which are unique and don't have any alternatives all over the world. We've greatly improved our popularity and export value worldwide.

Besides,we've done a great job to prepare a lot of new stuff for 2017. We are going to release our own terrain, wargame accessoires and a lot of new battle mats are already designed - all that to make your gaming experience special!

As for our favourite wargames - there is a lot of news too.  Warhammer 40K had great changes by the end of the year - new campaigns Traitor's Hate and Wrath of Magnus added new events into this universe, expanded timeline and set the basis for a looming 8th edition. Moreover, new extremely popular factions Genestealer's Cult and Deathwatch were released.

Also, Chaos Space marines, who's been waiting for something new from the beginning of 6th edition, finally got a lot of new stuff. And the whole Games Workshop has changed - now it's more player oriented - Facebook page provides online contact with players, new F.A.Q. were released, Warhammer TV launched and the whole company image is now really player-friendly.

This year was also important for Age of Sigmar. It's celebrated its 1st birthday and now we can say that it's rightfully taken Fantasy Battle place and won't go anywhere. The release of Generals' Handbok added tactical depth and tournament potential - all that players asked from the very beginning. Now, with the new rules, everyone can find something in the Age of Sigmar.

New factions such as Iron Jaws and Sylvaneth really expanded model range for this system. This year had a lot of challenges for  Games Workshop sculptors and they came through with flying colours.

Malifaux also doesn't stagnate. The relase of the new rules supplement expanded background, and added a lot of miniatures and bands for every faction. Divergent Path campaign really touched players all over the world and involved them into the storyline development.

Besides, Wyrd Games have announced another wargame - Other Side, which takes place in our world, left on the other side of the Breach to Malifaux. The concept and models are extremely interesting.

Corvus Belli also has much new stuff - their Infinity is expanded with a lot of new sets for every faction.

Also, this year brought new starters for 2 players and 300 pts armies ready-to-play box sets. Isn't that a great reason to try Infinity?

2017 prepares even more great things about our favourite wargames. What are you especially waiting for? What was the most interesting for you in 2016?

Warzone Studio wishes you a happy new year! May all your dreams come true and you get only pleasant experience from game and life. May the Force be with you!

Happy New Year!
